I am Stuart Shine, founder and coach at Shine Collaborative

As an endurance coach since 2021, I bring a holistic, personalized approach to help athletes of all levels achieve their training goals. My coaching style emphasizes mindfulness, allowing athletes to connect deeply with their bodies and goals, while responsiveness ensures that training plans evolve to meet individual needs. I believe in respect and collaboration, working closely with my clients to co-create strategies that lead to success. By incorporating data analysis and optimizing nutrition for metabolic wellness and performance, I guide you through every stage of your training—from building endurance to mastering fueling strategies—helping you unlock your full potential.

In my coaching, I apply the 80/20 philosophy, ensuring that 80% of your training is done at a low, easy intensity, allowing for consistent progress and minimizing injury risk. The remaining 20% involves moderate to high-intensity sessions to build strength and endurance without overwhelming the body. This method ensures you're executing your training efficiently over time, maintaining balance and performance. For example, in a seven-day cycle with one rest day, you'll complete six sessions, with only one or two at high intensity, creating a sustainable path toward your goals. My approach integrates this structure with personalized guidance, mindfulness, and nutrition strategies to optimize your success.

Personalized Coaching

In my coaching practice, I embody a unique and holistic approach that centers around mindfulness, responsiveness, respect, collaboration, and data analysis.

We bring a holistic and data-driven approach that focuses on helping athletes achieve their goals. Our coaching philosophy incorporates the 80/20 training model, where 80% of your workouts are done at an easy, sustainable pace, and the remaining 20% are performed at moderate to high intensity. This structure helps improve performance while minimizing injury risks, allowing for long-term progress. With tailored guidance and regular feedback, I support you through every step of your training—whether you're preparing for your first 5K or your next Ironman.

Optimized Nutrition

Guiding support of optimized dietary patterns that encourage metabolic wellness and performance nutrition is the last component of my coaching structure. We want to ensure that you are as healthy as possible in terms of cholesterol, blood glucose, blood pressure, and triglyceride levels. Additionally, we introduce and refine fueling strategies to support training and racing through consistent one-on-one mentorship and feedback cycles.

Mindfulness

Mindfulness forms the foundation of my coaching style, emphasizing present-moment awareness to cultivate a deeper understanding of the client's needs and aspirations. I want to cultivate awareness and focus amongst my athletes. Mindfulness meditation is a method we use to practice the art of noticing and observing. We can effectively assess and improve as needed when we are observant. I pride myself on being highly responsive, tailoring my coaching techniques to the evolving dynamics of everyone's journey. Respect is paramount in my coaching philosophy, fostering an environment where clients feel heard, valued, and empowered. Collaboration is key, as I believe in working together to co-create meaningful strategies and solutions.
